What is the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges?
The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commissions on Colleges (SACSCOC) is one of seven regional accrediting bodies for educational institutions in the United States. Why is TROY’s accreditation important to me?
Accreditation by SACSCOC is validation of ÂÌñÉç's quality in faculty and academic programs, services, financial stability, and more. In addition, this accreditation makes federal student financial aid funds available to TROY students who qualify, eases transfer of courses to and from other institutions and indicates to employers and others that TROY graduates have received a high quality education.
What is the difference between regional and national accreditation?
Regional accrediting bodies typically accredit public and private nonprofit institutions offering associate, baccalaureate, master's and/or doctoral degrees. National accrediting bodies typically accredit private institutions with missions focused on career education or faith-based education.
